I imagine it would be easy to smuggle a well behaved animal onboard anything. We have metal detectors, but they don't work on organisms. Reminds me of the organic guns hidden in the dog in the Cronenberg movie eXisTenz. It's kind of a funny story when you think about it. Cute monkey too.

Forgive me for resurecting a dead topic, but I wonder if we need to be harsher on animal importation. In the Uk you can't bring a dog in without I think a six month quarantine period and they have eliminated rabies. Eliminating it in the US would be much more difficult with the amount of wild cases, but still it's a thought.

Since this incident, TSA has started making people either remove headgear for inspection or allow agents to pat down their hats. Sikhs and other groups who wear turbans have been offended by this, and have said that it represents....drumroll...wait for it....racial profiling, natch.
