They can be cool only if they got ripped while YOU were wearing them.

Mine get frayed at the cuffs, and if I wear them long enough a tear forms in the crotch. Thankfully, I'm wearing shorts at this time of year.

I'm wearing shorts currently, but i do have some cargos that have tears all about...mainly the leg bottoms and around the knee. If they are real tears that occurred while being worn, they're cool. If you took out scissors and cut the knee out, that's extremely...stupid.

Mine were ripped because Brooke Burke was playing with my thighs and her fingernail got caught in the denim.

That happened to me once, with your mom. :P

I resemble that remark.

Actually, I say no age limits on fashion... if you can pull off the look then go for it.

i don't think most people are in a position to judge whether they can pull of a 'look'
if they are noticeably trying to pull of a look then they obviously can't.

i one is pondering this question at all, then you are probably past the point where you can pull it off.
if you throw them on without thinking about it, then you can.

True... but the problem is that many people over 30 have a deluded sense of self and only think they can pull off the look.

We'll make no determination on your part and let you keep on believing what you want.

If you still look hot in whatever the item of clothing, it doesn't matter your age. But if you're dressing like your teenage daughter or son, that's just pathetic, even if you would have looked good without them standing next to you.

I'm over thirty, don't care about fashion and wear what I have, ripped or not. You can 'pull off' anything if you don't care about it.

In essence here's what I am saying...

I have a friend who is 53 years old. He works out constantly, takes extreme care of himself, and can wear ANYTHING and still look cool. Ripped jeans would not phase him at all, nor would anyone think anything if he wore them.

Then I have another friend who is 25. He's balding prematurely, is heavey set, and has to really watch what he wears or he will look really dumpy. He has to be careful about ripped jeans, probably wouldn't look good on him. He looks better dressed up.

The Omen is right about the "not caring" part... that automatically makes you cool. Trying too hard is automatic death, and a sign you probably shouldn't go there. Deluded people aside, I don't think fashion has age limits. It's more about body types, and what flatters you personally and matches your style.
