Pick your sport. Pick your team. Pick your words.
So. The Saints. 12-0! Whew! A lifetime as a Cubs & Saints fan prevents me from getting too excited but wow.

Ha Ha, How is Pac-Man's fist going to get by Mayweather's jab? Surely Floyd know the whole trick is to keep Manny off of him with the jab.....Mayweather is a loud mouth, but he's a gifted boxer and too smart to mix it up with Manny or let him get inside.

It will get through, Manny's every bit the expert boxer Mayweather is. You watch. 10th round, Mayweather eats canvas.
In football news, I'm happy to see the Saints doing so well. They're not my team, but I'll root for for them because they've been the underdog for so long.
Meanwhile, my Raidahs are showing...progress? Gradkoswki has them fired up? What a turn around.
And the class of the NHL is once again my beloved Los Tiburones. Now if only we can win a playoff game.

Ohhhh if only that will happen, Mayweather eating canvas....
I LOVE Manny but can't say he's the pure boxing expert that Floyd is.

I think Floyd will be too prepared for this fight to let Manny get through his defense.
Still, I hope it's not a stinker where Mayweather is too cautious......It's just that I can't see Mayweather throwing caution to the wind to mix it up and risk losing his "0". He's never lost a fight and isn't about to do it now by F'ing around with Manny.
Wouldn't mind seeing Floyd get creamed though.

If both Money and and Pac bring their A-Game, that fight will be mind blowing. Its the first boxing match I've cared about in a long time.

And the city of New Orleans goes absolutely crazy....as in bat-shit crazy. Colts & Saints in the Superbowl....what's next? Cubs in the World Series? Will the world as we know it cease to exist?

Speaking as a lifelong Cubs & Saints fan I spent the entire football season holding my breathe and waiting for the shoe to drop yet there I was at the start of the third quarter when that on-sides kick worked and I thought to myself, "holy crap the Saints are gonna win the SuperBowl." We are all Who Dats now. Thank you Saints.

Glad to see Payton had some SERIOUS cajones to call the onside kick, what a brilliant, insanely great idea. So Harold, just how insane is Bourbon Street now?

Way too insane for me. And not just Bourbon Street. The Warehouse District was madness as well as was the Marigny. Traffic was backed up a couple of miles with people trying to get into the FQ as I was driving home from the party where I was at.
What this win meant for the city really can't be overstated. Almost everyone who was here for Katrina and what followed invested a lot in the Saints. The whole year as been weird or as a friend of mine put it, There is a black man in the White House, a white man just got elected mayor of New Orleans and the Saints won the Superbowl. It's like Bizarro world.

The Saints victory parade is today and they are expecting up to a million people to jam the streets. I'm trying to figure out a way to get there without sitting in traffic for a couple of hours and not having to pay $25.00 to park.

OK, I know we have a lot of Canadians here, so I'll be nice about it, but damn, Team USA flat out took it to the Canadians, they out-hustled, out-worked, and out-hit them 'til they were seeing stars.....and stripes! One of the most entertaining Olympic hockey games I've ever seen, and the Russian/Czech game before it was pretty awesome too, seeing the once mighty Jagr getting decimated by Ovie!

What was up with Brodeur? There are at least 2 goals he could have saved if he hadn't made stupid mistakes...

Yeah, i wouldn't call it the one-sided affair Dunny does. More like a goaltending game (where the Canucks actually outshot by a pretty huge margin). Miller played a great game, and if it weren't for him (and maybe if the asinine morons had started Luongo) things would be different this morning.

You'd think that after all his experience he'd know better than to go up the ice with his head down. ESPECIALLY when Ovie's on the ice!

I like yer enthusiasm for hockey Dunny, but I don't know what game you were watching, 45 shots to 22 doesn't exactly mean we got dominated, but Miller was amazing and you did win the game so that's all that really matters

Shots don't mean that much especially when you're behind. Yeah, the Canadians were swinging the lumber, sure, but we were winning the battles that counted, like when we were shorthanded. At the end there, it was the entire game in one play, Perry slowly skating back to get the puck, and Kesler giving it everything he had, and diving forward to slap it in and finish them off. No, it wasn't a one-sided event, but we showed heart when we needed to! Sadly, the lack of heart from Thornton and Marleau doesn't bode well for San Jose's chances when they playoffs begin... :?

when shots are double it does tend to indicate that we had a bunch of real chances (and we seemed to generate those chances at will, just couldn't get it past Miller), but i agree that it doesn't mean anything in the end. I've seen Kesler in action on many occasions and he is a stud. I've said that the US team would be tougher then folks thought, but I really think that game came down to goaltending and Brodeur couldn't get it done. We'll see what happens with Bobby Lou tonight. you guys are in tough against the swiss right now, they're better then anyone thinks, gonna go watch the 3rd.

Only a few days away from Selection Sunday, the NCAA tournament in basketball (men's and women's), and who knows how it'll turn out.
