friday night massacre.....is it me? aren't series already in production cheaper than setting up brand NEW series?
it is such an absolute waste to watch anything from non cable tv...if you like it they kill it, if it excels at mediocrity it sticks around forever.

Rare Sunday night in that all of Fox's animated shows smashed it out of the park. American Dad was brilliant in it's Alien sendup, Family Guy told a great story (and was essentially minus Stewie and Brian), Cleveland had their best episode yet, and The Simpsons went back to the well again with....the return of....Sideshow Bob!! WITH some great inside jokes!

Actually most super hero comics are better plotted and make much more sense than your average story arc of Heroes. I mean I am the tailor made audience for Heroes and I didn't hang on. It really was that bad and honestly, that is too bad.

well i was thinking that forcing it to play by Comic book rules would make it better.
and truly, i didn't hang on after season 1...until i caught up all at once and even then...i didn't care much.

Chuck was all kinds of awesome tonight as it zooms into next week's two-hour season finale...and can I say how great it was sitting down to enjoy the show knowing there was more to come in the fall? Well it was....great that is.
So I'm surprised it took the show this long to introduce a real nemesis for Chuck and I'm hoping that nemesis makes it out and into next season. Every hero needs an opposite number and with tonight's episode they created a threat with ties to every one of the show's three major characters.

Big Bang Theory was quite possibly the funniest episode of any comedy this season. The recounting of the meeting between Sheldon and Leonard was sidesplitting as we finally found out what happened to the elevator, seven long years ago. Sorry to see newcomer Romantically Challenged axed so soon, because while it's hardly the most original thing out there, it's fairly well done and Kelly Stables' character is one of the goofiest people to hit TV in a while. Her helpful "advice" to her sister on a one night stand was pretty funny.

Season runner-up of Lost was, I thought, yet another bucket of red herrings and I have a feeling that when the final episode is over on Sunday, that won't have changed.

The season ender of V was much more satisfying - although I'm not sure what Anna did by turning the sky red. Nice appetizer for season 2 though.

Semi-final of American Idol was kind of a let-down, chiefly because I think they are positioning Lee Dewyze to be the winner. Should be Krystal, but that's just my opinion.

The finale was good but I don't have much interest for Season 2. These second batch of episodes didn't do too much for me, with the lousy CGI being used for the inside the ship scenes, dull storylines & the most annoying, stupid character on TV right now in Tyler. I know V doesn't have a movie blockbuster budget, but can't they use actual sets instead of CGI. Sci-fi shows like Farscape & Battlestar Galatica have proven they can be epic & create entire new universes on a regular TV budget. The main Fifth Column rebellion storyline doesn't click because the Column rebels are idiots who are three steps behind Anna & their major accomplishment to this date has been to post the "John May Lives" pop-up ad during one of Anna's worldwide broadcasts. Maybe next time they can infect the V's e-mail accounts with spam.

The finale toned down Tyler's stupidity, finished up Valerie's hybrid baby storyline, & gave us a pissed-off Anna. The red sky was a big twist, but I can't see how they show how the rest of the world reacts to it with this budget(?). It will probably be the same 5-6 people in New York trying to stop it. Oh well, at least I know what the red shield from Highlander 2 would look like with today's effects.

Wait, I assumed the "red sky" was simply the thousands of V ships entering Earth's atmosphere. I thought that was rather cool, and definitely ominous. I couldn't agree more with your assessment of the ship's sets -- shoddy CGI work.

The show isn't nearly good enough yet to qualify as must-see viewing on my part, but it's fun. It's fascinating watching alliances build and shift, and Elizabeth Mitchell makes a compelling heroine. I love the scenes between her and Anna, with neither being entirely sure how much each other knows.

Season three finale of Chuck....there was nothing that wasn't golden fried awesome about it. It brought everyone together, it got to tear down its status quo and build itself a new one, it gave us Jeffster's music video, it gave us Morgan Grimes saving the day...twice while also destroying a good part of the show, it gave us tears & laughs and it gave us Chuck one on one versus his evil opposite number. I can't tell you how happy I am the show is coming back in the fall.

With 24 gone, Justified is my favorite action/drama show on TV right now. The cast, acting, writing, & action scenes are all superb. It's great to see Goggins again because I was a huge Shield fan & his racist/religious redneck character is a great heel to Timothy Olyphant's "cowboy" marshall Raylan Givens. The best part of Givens' character is he can just straight up shoot you or has the ability to talk somebody down & get out of a situation without one shot being fired. It's also a breathe of fresh air to see a show that doesn't rely on satellites, face recognition ID, "magic" video cameras, or even computer hacking. If Raylen & Co. need to find somebody, they get his or her picture & they start knocking on doors (or in some cases, foreheads) & ask around. The villains have the right amount of nuance. They're scumbags that should be locked away or have a bullet put in their heads, yet you find out why they broke the law or became the person they've become. My favorite episode was the one with the hostage taker in the Marshall's office who clearly watched too much TV when he wondered if anybody asking for a helicopter has ever got one or has it ever worked.

caught the first episodes of Fox's the Good Guys... neo-starsky & hutch, with emphasis on the stunts and the silly.
would make a nice double feature with Burn Notice.

Caught the first episode of Hot In Cleveland, and as expected, it was pretty solid. Jane Leeves seems to get all the good lines so far, but naturally Betty White pulls off some good ones as only she can "Why are you talking to these prostitutes?" This has possibilities, and Valerie Bertinelli is indeed, looking better than ever, plus lots of Jane Leeves who was my favorite part of Frasier. Then, I snagged a show simply because the title made me think it might have something to do with the late, lamented Greg The Bunny, and it is indeed, the return of Warren The Ape, now destitute and wretched, as he tries to fight his way back to success. Very, very wrong in so many respects, but very, very funny in others. Too bad MTV didn't save Greg The Bunny when they could have as well, but I'll take this.

A few more comments about the 2009/2010 season.

Covert Affairs: This is almost as good as the 1st two seasons of Alias without all the Rambaldi sci-fi mumbo jumbo, convoluted nonsense. The cast (with Piper Perabo surprising me by showing a charisma or presence she never had in any of her other roles), writing, & action scenes are all solid. I'm really interested in how they play out Perabo/Walker's ex-boyfriend who's a mysterious ex-agent storyline. Memo to producers: You must get Gregory “President Logan from 24” Itzin into as many episodes as possible.

Burn Notice: It’s still going strong in its’ 4th season. When they added another “burnt” agent in Jesse to Michael’s “gang”, I thought the show would go downhill like those family comedies that add a nephew or a long-lost son to the cast. The Jesse character was very useful & added the “Will he find out that Michael was the one who burned him” story arc. The best episode had Burt Reynolds as an old school, pissed off ex-special ops agent with a faulty memory who just wanted to shoot some commie Russians. Reynolds was just awesome in this role & too bad it was only a one-time guest appearance. After last week’s cliffhanger about who has the coded bible, I can’t wait till November.

i think i may like it in a few years when i rewatch the entire thing beginning to end.
