RE: Help Wanted

Postby the5thghostbuster » Fri Jun 25, 2010 6:30 pm

Greetings!

Just two questions for those thinking of applying for the Verdict Help Wanted Ad:

1) when it comes the the DVD reviews, what is the basic set up one is expected to have for watching the discs? For example, I have a HDTV, but lack surround speakers for the set up.

2) When applying, are we to list which of the three types of material (Independent film, TV on DVD, Kids and Family) we would prefer to review?

Thank you very much!

We don't have specific requirements on equipment. You need to be able to give appropriate info to your readers about video and audio.

If you have a special interest in those genres, please let us know. Our reviews are not locked into reviewing specific genres, but those are ones we could use some extra help with.

Thanks!

Would I need to submit reviews?

Har har. My main point was to figure out if the site hired with the understanding of technical limitations (ie, if a disc only has a 2.0 audio, it would be sent to someone who is only has such capabilities) or not. Not unreasonable, is it? I get that to review most discs that a system is required. However, if there is, say, a stock pile of discs to review with only 2.0 capabilities, than at least submitting for consideration would be a possibility.

Well Harold, I doubt they would just blindly hire an unknown commodity without first seeing a sample of what they're capable of. Right? ;)

You seem a little too ambitious.

Okay then but can we say I've already passed my double secret he-gets-all-the-crap-Angie Everhardt-Stephen Baldwin-direct-to-DVD-screeners-hazing?
