R.I.P. Stephen J. Cannell

Postby J.M. Vargas » Fri Oct 01, 2010 12:19 pm

One hell of a nice guy besides being a prolific TV producer/creator: http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/showtracker/2010/10/stephen-j-cannell-prolific-tv-producer-dies.html
Stephen J. Cannell, bestselling novelist and Emmy-winning TV producer of hits like "The Rockford Files" and "21 Jump Street," died at his Pasadena home of complications of melanoma on Thursday. He was 69... wrote for iconic series including "Adam-12," "Mission: Impossible" and "It Takes a Thief" before founding a company that churned out classic action adventure series "The A-Team," "The Greatest American Hero" and a string of other franchises...

The guy was responsible for about 35% of my youthful TV viewing, R.I.P. Mr, Cannell. I still have the pic of Ihad taken of me in front of his offices in Hollywood. We were cruising around and we saw the sign "Stephen J. Cannell Productions", I jumped out, was denied by security, but I posed for a picture by the sign!

Poker night at Rick Castle's should be retired in his honour. Hell of a writer, hell of a producer.

Whoa!

I'm so far behind on the news anymore... :o
Did hear about Eddie Fisher and Tony Curtis, how could I have missed Cannell?

Now I'm depressed...watched so many of his shows as a kid... *sigh*
