My PBS station started showing the old 'Joy of Painting with Bob Ross' shows earlier this summer and I got hooked on them again, just as was when I was younger and he was still making new episodes.
Even though now that I realize his overall style and method were rather limited, I continue to be amazed at the paintings he always cranks out in thirty minutes. Every so often, I'll be watching an episode and swear that he screwed up a painting, but he manages to turn a blob of paint slapped on the canvas into a "happy little tree" or a whole forest of them, with nothing more than his pallete knife and dry fan brush.
Anyone else a fan of Bob, or ever tried painting after being inspired by him? I was inspired to a certain extent, and have been dabbling in a really awesome art program called ArtRage on the computer.
