The New Double Dip

Is the 3D release on Blu-ray the new double dip? How to Train Your Dragon and Toy Story 3 are both getting just a standard Blu-ray release with no 3D version in sight. My ration of double dipping from DVD to Blu-ray is pretty high and I certainly hate to think that I'm now going to have to be doing tons of Blu-ray to 3D Blu-ray double dipping in the future. Re-releasing stuff like Bolt and Coraline is fair game for a double dip but there is no excuse to do that with recent films like How to Train Your Dragon.

Considering I'll NEVER buy a TV that requires me to wear a big, hokey pair of $150 glasses, the answer is no.

I'm with Dan. Actually, I'm quite happy with this. As long as they keep releasing the 2D's as separate -- and hopefully cheaper -- packages then I can buy things without getting stuff I don't want. 3D has no interest for me at all. Now if we only could do something about those damn combo things.
