Finally got around to getting Schindler's List. And found Extreme Prejudice for 6 bucks at Kmart. Hadnt seen that since I was a kid - got me started on a kind of Walter Hill retrospective viewing spree :)

You and I really are evil twins or something. Between Ridley Scott, Michael Mann, and Walter Hill.

Also... The Driver... pure awesome.

Nah, it's an old Walter Hill flick on DVD. Just throwing it out there as a suggestion for Attrage. If he's on a Hill kick, he needs to throw The Driver into the watch pile post haste.

The old DVD ain't half bad actually, and the flick is one of Hill's better efforts in my opinion, I put it just above 48 Hours and Southern Comfort and right below The Warriors and Streets of Fire.

Joseph Losey's The Prowler on the way from Amazon. Can't wait to finally see the film as I missed the restoration's theatrical run. I hear it's aces.

I just saw that available on amazon as well. The only thing that scares me is that it's a VCI release. It is a interesting week for oddball releases. The Prowler, Stanley Donen's Lucky Lady and Charles Grodin, James Mason, Trevor Howard & Candice Bergen in 11 Harrowhouse. Makes me feel like it is 2005 or something.

Eh, it's pretty much the only "official" one we're gonna get. Extras look strong (Muller commentary, etc.), and though the transfer is sure to be interlaced, as long as the source print is good (and it is), for $15 I'm there.

Shock Corridor
The Naked Kiss
All About Eve

Thought about picking up An Affair to Remember at the same time, but I seem to recall that one being brought up as a Classic that hasn't held up as strongly as others. I'll have to look into it, especially since there seems to be a resurgence of interest in Leo McCarey of late.

I agree but for pete's sake..it's 2011...no one releases interlaced discs anymore. Or at least no one should. It's one of those purchases where I don't want to support an inferior product but I REALLY want the movie.

After a long search at local retailers I finally found the Blu Ray of King Kong (2005), so finally got to see the extended version. Worth the wait? Not really...the added scenes weren't exactly mind-blowing, but still pretty sweet to see it on Blu.

After a drought in DVD buying, I took advantage of Target's $9 DVD sale for two titles: Iron Man 2 and Inception.

Not bad.
