That might be a Canadian only release. The rumor continues to be that Criterion will be releasing it.

As a heads up, it's available on Netflix streaming to tide you over until there's a high def US release.

It is exclusively Canadian for now, much like Che's initial release, which probably means we'll get a nice Criterion down the line.

Disney can't release a Blu-ray version of a Ghibli title before Japan does. That's why we haven't any Blu-ray releases for Spirited Away, Howl's Moving Castle and Tales from Earthsea yet.

How about Princess Mononoke? No one over here knew who Myazaki was (save for a few of us Anime hardcore) before that came over

I'd kill to get that on blu (I still think it's Myazaki's best, and most fulfilled work)

Picked up a couple more blu-rays dirt cheap at HMV, King of Kings and Hellraiser, in what is probably the most inappropriate video match-up since I traded in Schindler's List for Triumph of the Will a couple of years ago.

Looking forward to seeing what Nick Ray does with a biblical epic.
