Interesting. Not one of his best efforts and a rather troubled production as I recall that almost ruined Hollywood films being shot in Mexico.

As I recall, the pristine white outfits worn by the Mexican farmers in The Magnificent Seven were an attempt by producers at buying back some goodwill from the Mexican government after the Vera Cruz fiasco. Still, I dug the parts of the movie I've seen.

Judging from the DVD, this one needed a lot of restoration. Also, if Burt Lancaster smiled any bigger he could have easily been mistaken for the Cheshire Cat.
