SHERLOCK HOLMES: THE COMPLETE COLLECTION (14 films on 5 BD's) coming March 29th from MPI Home Video. Is that enough Basil Rathbone and Nigel Bruce for you? :)

MORTAL KOMBAT & MORTAL KOMBAT: ANHIALATION coming April 19th. No bonus features though, just trailers and a plug for a new "MK" videogame.

RollerBall (1975): My DVD is scratched to hell & I don’t want to buy another used one. The DVD had a mediocre transfer & I would love to see it get a Godfather Blu-Ray video restoration type treatment.

Mortal Kombat: Hell yes! My favorite video game movie finally in 1080p Hi-Def. I hope it can be bought as a stand alone & I’m not being forced to buy the two-pack with the eye gougingly awful Anihilation.

MAY 31st:

Image
The Blu-ray collection will be boxed in new book-style premium packaging and will include a 40-page hard-cover book that explores the breadth of genres and themes in Kubrick's work. It will include the new release of A Clockwork Orange and the existing releases of Spartacus (licensed from Universal), Strangelove (licensed from Sony), 2001, The Shining, Full Metal Jacket: Deluxe Edition and Eyes Wide Shut. See individual entries for details.

No special features have been listed for Lolita or Barry Lyndon.

Only "Clockwork Orange" is listed as having a new transfer, everything else is from already-available individual BD titles. And yes, for now the only way to get "Lolita" and "Barry Lyndon" on Blu (barebones! ) is to buy this Box Set. Oh well, waited this long to finally see these two in high-def for the first time (ever!). I can wait a few more months when they're released individually. 8)

Platoon and Miller's Crossing would be must buys for me, but where are my anamorphic HD versions of The Abyss and True Lies? I'd settle for bare bones catalog releases at this point.

The original, Bronson/Winner version of The Mechanic. With the remake being released on May 17th, it seems like an ideal time to put the original out as well, but so far there has been no announcement.

Amazon has links for individual BD releases of LOLITA and BARRY LYNDON for May 31st. They're labeled 'Amazon Exclusives,' so on release day apparently the only way to get these two Kubrick BD's without re-buying the Box Set is through amazon.

If I had to pick one movie I want to see done right on blu-ray, well, I could not pick one but Jaws would be on any top five list.
