I know how people feel about remakes, but with Anton Yelchin and Colin Farrell in there, call me curious.

The trailer certainly didn't disappoint

Throw in David Tennant and I'm with you. Still, I love, love, love the original.

I couldn't get through the original due to the loathsome Stephen Geoffreys and the off-putting "9-year-olds-in-adult-bodies" quality of the main couple. So this is probably an improvement, although it looks like it takes itself way too seriously.

Oh, the original Fright Night is great fun; even the sequel has its moments.

Not entirely sure about this remake; Chris Sarandon brought a touch of elegance to the proceedings that I'm not seeing in the trailer; there's more of a Hostel vibe what with victims stored away in cells. Anton Yelchin is spot on as Charlie, though.

And speaking of not seeing, where the hell is David Tennant?

Tennant's there, go to the 2:10 spot in the trailer. They've seriously downplayed his role in the film.

I notice some of Marti Noxon's small Buffy touches in the trailer. And there are some definite deviations from the original film, which can't be a bad thing. Colin Farrell doesn't have that smoldering intensity Chris Sarandon has, but he has presence nonetheless.

Sarandon was one of the old ponce charming vampires, Farrell is a goddamn hungry wolf.
