Yep. Surprised the hell out of me. I was looking online for [Rec]2 and could only find region 2 Spanish editions. This came out of nowhere. It's on Seville/e1 and I got it for $32.99.

Took the first bite of the B&N sale and purchased on Criterion blu Naked, Kiss Me Deadly, Black Moon, Zazie dans le'metro & Insignificance. From amazon.uk I bought Fritz Lang's Indian Eric from MoC and Tsui Hark's Detective Dee: Mystery of the Phantom Flame. I would have picked up Damnation Alley & Battle Beyond the Stars from Best Buy if they had stocked them or didn't give me that clueless stare when I asked about them.

finally broke down and pickup the Deluxe edition of African Queen.
like most deluxe editions, everything beyond the quality transfer is a waste of money and space.
but seeing as how it looks out of print i figured i'd grab it up.
I already had a copy of hepburn's book but it was a clever add-in to the set.

there is DEFINITELY a slacking off of 'deluxe' editions being released, perhaps they aren't fashionable anymore.

I got the deluxe set for Gone With the Wind but didn't go that route with The Wizard of Oz. Go figure? I am getting the Blu-ray deluxe sets for The Ten Commandments and Ben Hur. For these it's for the silent version only being available on the Blu-ray upgrades.

So they are doing blu-ray editions of the silents for those two movies but they are not doing a blu-ray of Ambersons with the Citizen Kane set? Wtf?

See, I just don't understand that at all. I love The Magnificent Ambersons but it's being treated as Kane's little bastard.

Took advantage of the B&N Criterion sale to finally nab that 3 Silent Classics by Josef Von Sternberg set I've been coveting for so long. Now it'll be all I can do to not give in to temptation and get the Mizoguchi's Fallen Women Eclipse set. We'll see.

Through a combination of birthday gifts & Best Buy gift cards.

The Pacific Blu Ray: For $72.99, this better live up to all the hype & great reviews.
Smallville Season 8 DVD
24 Season 7 DVD
Sucker Punch Blu Ray
War of the Worlds (2005) Blu Ray
Red Reign: The Chicago Bulls 1st Championship DVD: I already watched this & I have to mention that it has the same “Learning to Fly” documentary that the NBA Dynasty Chicago Bulls DVD has. The only new feature is 12 minutes of new comments & perspective from Scottie Pippen & John Paxson. If you own the NBA Dynasty DVD, there’s not enough reason to get this, even for $5.99. You’ve been warned Bulls fans.
