Vizio XVT3D580CM 58" 21:9 CinemaWide 3D HDTV for a very good price from Costco. The only HDTV in the States (Philips has made and sold similar sets in Europe since 2009) designed for 2:35:1 anamorphic movies (to the detriment of 1:78:1 and 1:85:1 framed movies/TV shows, which end up with black bars on the sides of the screen). The first three movies I watched on this bad boy:

Not pictured is the fourth movie I saw, the James Cameron-produced 3D cave diving movie "Sanctum." It's horrible, but the 3D effect on the Vizio (considering it was from compressed Time Warner Cable on 1080i) was pretty good with passive 3D glasses. And it can only get better when I update the PS3 to play 3D BD discs. Pleased as punch with my new set except, size and picture-wise, it's a trade-off down to the brands and models of sets I was looking at. For the bang-for-buck price I got it for though, the 58" Vizio rocks.

Basically, I got all this from a combination of gifts & gift cards from relatives & friends. I just finished using the last of the Target & Best Buy gift cards today.

Expendables 2 (Blu Ray/DVD combo)
Total Recall (Blu Ray, the original with Arnold, not the unnecessary remake with Colin Farrell)
Smallville: The Final Season (Blu Ray)
The Dark Knight Rises (Blu Ray/DVD combo)
Looper (DVD) I really liked Looper at the theater but the DVD had almost all the special features that the Blu Ray had so I saved a few $$$ on the gift card.
The Fly (Blu Ray)

Satan Claws was good to me:

Lawrence of Arabia 50th Anniversary Limited Edition
Casablanca 70th Anniversary boxed set
Ben Hur 50th Anniversary Limited Edition

and a 100" front projector setup and screen to watch it all on... If I ever again get some free time... oi!
