The Charge

Dance off the pounds using these simple dance steps!

The Case

You don't have to be a dummy just a beginner to find this unique disc helpful. If you're like me, and often attempt an aerobic workout just to find that your two left feet keep getting in the way, this DVD may be the end of your frustrations.

Dance Workout for Dummies contains a brief introduction, a thorough tutorial, and two 20-minute workouts. I highly recommend doing the tutorial a few times before you dive in. Here, instructor Michelle LeMay teaches you step-by-step basic moves step by step you'll want to learn and practice to be ready for the workouts. Once you get started, the instructions are easy to follow and they generously thrown in extra tips to help you along the way.

Michelle's a great instructor -- inspirational without being annoying. Her dance background is obviously extensive, but she's able to breakdown the moves to a beginning level. Unlike other workouts in this niche, there are no background students, so it almost feels like a personal lesson with no distractions from Michelle's teaching.

The video and audio enhance the program, without any of the funky camera work that often makes it difficult to see what you are supposed to be doing. There is some fun music playing during the workouts, but you can still hear the directions loud and clear.

Those that have been doing dance or aerobics will find Dance Workout for Dummies far too basic for their tastes. I doubt that you will lose many pounds doing either of these routines, but they're a great stepping stone to more aggressive workouts.
