Have you heard the buzz?
Our pals at Da Street have put together bug-themed best-of collection, geared towards the rugrats who love creepy crawlies...or talking puppets. I guess that's everyone under the age of 8.
Firefly Fun and Buggy Buddies runs just south of 50 minutes and sports a wide selection of moments from Sesame Street's expansive vault. The common thread tying them all together is, obviously, bugs, with the heavy-hitting stars -- Oscar, Big Bird, Telly, and money-maker Elmo -- taking turns kicking it with insects made of felt.
Some of the fan favorites include Oscar's pet work, an episode of Elmo's World devoted entirely to bugs, and my favorite, a guest stint from Molly Shannon as a bug shelter worker.
The stuff is top-notch, as you'd expect, given the long-running quality of Sesame Street. Since Firefly Fun is essentially a clip show detracts somewhat from the luster, but if your kiddo is all about the bugs, then this disc makes big sense. It's breezy, colorful, fun edu-tainment.
And that's all I have to say about that. Full frame, 2.0 stereo, and some classic Sesame Street segments round out the disc.
Not Guilty.
