The Charge

To celebrate the release of this long-awaited Jim Wynorski classic, our tireless field operatives at the DVD Verdict world headquarters tracked down one of the stars of the film and convinced him to sit down for an exclusive interview.

The Case

Verdict: Hello, thanks for taking time out of your schedule to chat with us.

Communicable Disease: Thanks. No problem.

Verdict: So tell us how you found yourself involved in this project.

Communicable Disease: Well, my agent sent me the script and I thought the idea of spoofing a supernatural-mystery was catchy.

Verdict: Heh.

Communicable Disease: I'm sorry, what?

Verdict: No, it was just...you said "catchy." And since you're a --

Communicable Disease: What? I'm a what?

Verdict: Never mind, let's move on. So the film centers around a young married couple. They're on their way to a secluded mansion once owned by a buxom woman (Taylor Wane) who's been known to have sex with women in hot tubs. She's died and left a pile of money, but has challenged her friends, all of whom are just as buxom as she is, to work out clues to the treasure's location. About that opening hot tub scene, I believe this sequence was the first time you were on-screen?

Communicable Disease: Actually, no that was my stunt double. I have a strict "no water jets" policy in my contract. A friend of mine did a Jacuzzi scene in, what was it, um, oh yeah The Day of the Lubricant and -- WHAP -- we never saw him again. So, no, that wasn't me in there. I make my debut a little later on during the outdoor sex scene.

Verdict: Yes, the one with the aforementioned married couple. That's when we first meet headliner Glori-Anne Gilbert, who has appeared in a variety of these erotic spoofs. Tell me, what was it like working with her?

Communicable Disease: Oh, it was great. Everything my colleagues told me about her was true. She's gracious, encouraging and extremely accommodating. A wonderful person.

Verdict: How about her co-stars? Male and female?

Communicable Disease: Yeah, it was a busy shoot, and my schedule was consistently booked. Whether it was the bathtub lesbian sex scene or the second outdoor sex scene or the couch sex scene or the bedroom sex scene or the against-the-tree, in-the-middle-of-the-woods sex scene or the other couch sex scene or the meeting room sex scene, all of the actors were professionals. In fact, Jim (Wynrorski) was so happy with my gumption and work ethic, he let me do a few dialogue scenes too.

Verdict: Really? I didn't notice.

Communicable Disease: Well, yeah, I am a bacteria, so it's difficult for the camera to pick me up sometimes, but I strongly believe my presence was -- and continues to be -- felt by everyone who worked with me.

Verdict: So are you happy with the way the film came out?

Communicable Disease: Oh sure. I mean, it's not really a spoof per se of The House on Haunted Hill, but it has a sense of humor about itself. Really, though, this isn't an exercise in plot and character development, as you know. We're just trying to get as many large-breasted women naked and thrusting onscreen before their implants rupture. I'm confident our nipple-to-non-nipple-footage ratio is even competitive with most How-To Nurse Your Newborn DVDs out on the market.

Verdict: So what projects do you have coming up?

Communicable Disease: Actually, this shoot was pretty exhausting, though I'm grateful for the chance to meet so many interesting people and see some new places. I've got a few gigs lined up with Cinemax and then an E! True Hollywood Story about Lindsay Lohan in the fall. Until then, I'm just going to spend some time resting my flagella.

Verdict: Sounds like you've earned it. Thanks for your time.

Communicable Disease: Thank you.
