The Charge

"Don't just watch your TV. Live with it!"

The Case

Okay. Whatever you say, tagline. MoMA stands for The Museum of Modern Art, and what you're looking at is essentially a screen-saver for your television. So I suppose you're sort of living with it, as the disc is designed to loop in the background. I guess. The cover shows an attractive couple sitting on a couch in front of it, possibly remarking to each other how awesome their giant TV with all of its art is, and how it's just as good as living in a museum.

I'm desperately trying to extend this review into something more than a synopsis, but what can I say? This is a slideshow. It's quite an attractive slideshow, however, featuring 50 paintings from The Museum of Modern Art in New York, from such luminaries as Vincent van Gogh, Jasper Johns, Jackson Pollack, and Paul Cezanne. You get 50 works of art in all, which run for 50 minutes on a continuous loop, wile generic soothing music plays in the background.

And that's it. Really. Fifty awesome paintings on an eternal loop playing on your big-ass new HDTV. There are exactly three things you can do with this program: 1) let it run unimpeded, 2) let it run unimpeded with overlaid information about the paintings, or 3) create your own custom playlist.

MoMA: The Museum of Modern Art (Blu-ray) looks nice, the images given high-definition 1.78:1 widescreen makeovers that will fill your television. The 5.1 Dolby audio track does as little as it needs to do, to pump out the nondescript score.

The Verdict

Look at the pretty paintings! Not Guilty?
