Join your Sesame Street friends and special guests for outdoor adventures full of rich science vocabulary.
The residents of Sesame Street have a 54-minute compilation of skits and segments joined together by one common theme: nature.
Like the rest of these anthology features, Wild Words collects bits from different broadcasts, though the material assembled this go-round seem to be from relatively recent broadcasts. It's all about the outdoors, with our puppet friends singing and riffing on the joys of foliage and sunshine and wildlife and Big Bird's nest and hibernation.
However, you can make the argument the other major theme for this DVD is "celebrity gawking." You'll see a lot of Page 6 faces contributing their nature knowledge: Cameron Diaz, Jimmy Fallon (with a song and dance number), Debra Messing, Elizabeth Hasselbeck, and Meredith Viera join the fun.
Some of the segments featured here are "Baby Bear Hibernates" (we learn about hibernation!), Big Bird's new habitat (where Big Bird's friend Freddy Flapman convinces him to move his nest out of Sesame Street, which he agrees to, before Big Bird realizes that he'd miss all of his friends and/or likely be shot and mounted), Fallon's amusing schtick as "Wild Nature Survivor Guy" and a captivating investigation by Elmo into a grasshopper's camouflage ability.
The DVD: full frame, 2.0 stereo and "Alphabet Jungle" bonus animation.
