All Rise...Of things to boost, this is just the tip of the iceberg for Judge Melissa Hansen. The ChargeBurn More Calories All Day Long The CaseAre you looking for something more then a simple quick workout? Do you want the effects to last longer than the time you put in? Then you need to tone along with raising your heart rate. Boost your muscle. Boost your metabolism. This 50-minute routine starts with a quick but thorough warm up, followed by a half hour where we alternate between muscle building moves and cardio, in intervals of several minutes each. Most moves begin at a "Level 1" version and then become higher impact at "Level 2." During the cardio sections, we go back and forth between various moves, as is typical in an aerobic workout. Next comes a few minutes of leg lifts using a chair for support, before hitting the floor for another weight segment. And we finish with some quick stretches. Here's an idea: Why not make this a full hour and throw in some ab-specific work? I have the same complaint with most workout DVDs. Where is the stretching? Why not add a series of stretches or yoga as a bonus workout and make this a more well rounded routine? Tracey Staehle is a more than competent instructor, and the presentation is clear, but the music can be too loud and too fast for these routines. Beginners may have some difficulty keeping up. A set of hand weights is needed, and a mat will be helpful. The only bonus is a fairly typical printable meal plan. This is the second Results Fitness DVD I've reviewed and I'll be honest: I'm developing a soft spot in my heart (and a hard spot in my glutes) for them. They are effective workouts and well produced discs. I have some minor quibbles, obviously, but not enough to advise against a purchase. Doing this workout regularly will help you build muscle and burn calories. The VerdictNot Guilty. Get boosting!
