Spring is in the air and friendship is in bloom!

The Case

The rebooted Care Bears blast out some syrupy love from their furry underside, in eight episodes focusing on friendship and sliding down rainbows on their butts.

• "Growing Pains"
Share the Care Bear is wowing all her pals with her awesome garden. Her pal Cheer is inspired by Share's green thumb, or rather neon pink felt thumb, so she starts one and, before you know it, the two succumb to over-competitiveness, endangering their friendship.

• "King Grumpy"
Grumpy the Care Bear, which strikes me as an oxymoron, abuses the friendship of his robot pal Wingnut. One thing leads to another and Wingnut needs rescuing from an evil castle.

• "Cheer, There and Everywhere"
The Care Bears throw a big parade and Cheer becomes neurotic over the planning and neglects her primary duty of making the Starshine centerpiece for the parade float.

• "Case of the Grumpies"
Here's a shocker: Grumpy is in a bad mood. His friends try to cheer him up but realize the hard way that what might cheer up Grumpy isn't the same thing that cheers them up.

• "Gobblebugs"
The Gobblebugs are on the loose and they're eating all the plants and trees in Care-a-lot. How to get rid of them? Paint the town yellow!

• "Grizzle-ized"
Girzzle, the evil bear that wants to nuke Car-a-lot, exploits Oopsie's low self-esteem to smuggle in an evil machine that will fulfill his sinister scheming.

• "Two of a Kind"
Grumpy clones himself and offers double the irritation.

• "Stand Up and Cheer"
The Care Bears are ready to rock out at the Care-a-Lot Talent Show, with Cheer running point on the production.

It's the Care Bears. What more do you need to know? They're relentlessly happy (except for Grumpy, who probably should have been exiled form Care-a-Lot years ago) and often make mistakes but luckily they're friends and can resolve any issue within the allotted eight minutes. It's low-impact stuff, but the morals are spelled out clearly and the animation is bright and saccharine. The kiddos should dig it.

The DVD autoplays all eight episodes (full frame, 2.0 stereo) or you can work out of the main menu for episode selection or a badge match interactive game.
