The Case

Little Emily Elizabeth is the envy of all her friends. She's got the greatest pet ever, an abnormally large red dog named Clifford that has a lot of love to give and generates poop the size of a Rav-4.

This special Valentine's Day collection boasts eight episodes worth of big red pleasantness:

• "Cleo's Valentine Surprise"
Cleo the poodle runs all around the island to create the greatest valentine ever for Clifford and T-Bone—but where's the quid pro quo?

• "Big-Hearted T-Bone"
Clifford slinks of into the background as his pal T-Bone volunteers to take the hyperactive poodle Kiki to the beach. T-Bone soon grows weary of the high-maintenance dog but it all pays off when his adventures impress a hot little terrier.

• "Wedding Bell Blues"
Emily Elizabeth's teacher introduces the class to her fiancé, a botanist named Frank who just oozes animal magnetism.

• "Special T-Bone"
T-Bone, riddled with insecurity, struggles to find out if he's special or not. He eventually realizes that what makes him special is his ability to make people feel better.

• "Clifford the Pirate King"
Clifford fears that he's ruining the kids' pirate party, so he reluctantly leaves. But Emily Elizabeth finds a use for her freakishly huge pet—digging!

• "Princess Cleo"
Feeling a wave of entitlement, Cleo bestows a crown upon her head and decides to become a princess and turns into a self-absorbed jerk. Her friends stage an intervention, which includes jumping in a pile of leaves. Ah, dogs.

• "King Mac"
Mac takes advantage of T-Bone's low-functioning brain activity, and manipulates him into cleaning up his messes. He learns a valuable lesson about not exploiting his friends. But, really, what else would you expect from a greyhound?

• "Flood of Imagination"
Confined in Clifford's huge doghouse during a rain-storm, the canine pals let their imaginations run wild.

For gentle, happy, colorful kids' entertainment, you can't do much better than Clifford. There's only one Valentine's themed episode, but the rest of the shows should provide plenty of glee for the kids.

A clean full-frame video transfer and 2.0 stereo audio are supplemented by a simple interactive game, a three-minute feature on real-life dog friends and some helpful tips on how your slacker kids can take more responsibility.
