You never do know what's around the bend.
I think it was the 2012 election and Romney was talking about pulling the plug on public television. Now, I'm a standard issue Federalist/Live-Free-or-Die type, but I always thought this particular talking point was vapid. Not only are you talking chump change compared to the rest of the budget bloat, but at least PBS is the government providing something of aesthetic value to us plebes. There's something to be said for building the type of civilization you want to live in and, for me and my daughter, that civilization needs to have Curious George as a part of it.
Here is Season 7 of the Emmy award winner, bringing seven episodes (14 total stories, two per episode) on one disc. My daughter has seen all of these many, many times over, but that's the beauty of the show: she doesn't mind watching it and I'm happy to let her soak in the exploration, problem-solving, camaraderie, otter identification and other assorted learning.

"George and Allie's Lawn Service"
One noticeable vacancy: the feature-length "Swings Into Spring." I guess you'll need to pony up some extra dough for the stand-alone DVD.
As for the episodes on disc: all good, wholesome fun. The animation is colorful and clean, the soundtrack is jazzy and William H. Macy is second only to Ron Howard as most indispensable TV show narrator.
Nothing too exciting about the DVD: 1.78:1 anamorphic widescreen, Dolby 2.0 stereo, and no extras.
Not guilty. Stay curious, my friend.
