The Case

That diabolical little bilingual adventurer is back and he's here to teach your kids a very important lesson: it's okay to travel to dangerous countries without adult supervision.

What's our buddy Diego up to this go-round? The usual: 1) Globe-trotting, 2) Talking to animals, 3) Teaching us useless Spanish phrases, and 4) Driving a Panda train across the mountains (not a euphemism). Along the way, he'll turn to the camera and ask you for some help, which of course is an obvious breach of the fourth wall, but I'll give the little bastard this much: he's got guts.

Four episodes on the disc:
• "All Aboard the Giant Panda Express"
Pretty much what it sounds like. Diego and his friend Baby Jaguar (kids, if you see a baby jaguar do not attempt to befriend it) find a bunch of pandas and go on a train ride with them.

• "Koala's Birthday Hug"
The mission: head to Australia and track down Joey the Koala so his mom can hug him. Also, go on a terrifying hang-gliding excursion.

• "Leaping Lemurs!"
Baby Jaguar's back. And lemurs are involved. They leap, I think.

• "Diego Saves the Beavers"
It's going to be a beaver apocalypse, if Diego can't find a way to defeat a giant tidal wave.

Four episodes, lots of high-pitched introductory Spanish and an admittedly effective toddler interaction method. There are plenty of opportunities for kiddo participation in Diego's adventures, whether they're maze navigation, softball questions, or multiple choice quizzes.

Full screen, 2.0 stereo, and a pair of music videos from something called the "Fresh Beat Band," which looks to be entirely composed of young adults on PCP.
