The Case

More footage from the NFL vault. I'm still not entirely sold on these Greatest Rivalries collections, for a couple of reasons: 1) There is nothing else added to them except a regurgitation of the broadcast games, and 2) the games don't tend to be that fantastic.

Anywho, here are three more courses for your pigskin consumption, all of which feature the Washington Redskins on the winning end of match-ups with their hated rivals, the Dallas Cowboys:

Disc One: 1/22/83, 31-17
Old-school, this game's victor (Hint: not the Cowboys) earns a berth in Super Bow XVII. It's a high-stakes game, but the 31-17 score short-circuits any potentially nail-biting final moments.

Disc Two: 09/19/05, 14-13
A slog for three quarters, but Mark Brunell (!) tosses a pair of highlight reel touchdown passes to squash the 'boys in their own stadium.

Disc Three: 11/05/06, 22-19
Now here's an awesome game. The two teams are tied, time is winding down, Dallas sets up for the game-winning field goal, and…Well, you know the final score, but the circumstances that transpire are genuinely thrilling. This is probably the best game I've seen in this entire series.

Three discs, three games, chapters divided by quarters (prepare for a large amount of fast-forwarding). All the games are given mediocre full-frame treatments. No extras.

The Verdict

Only the die-hard faithful of the Redskins nation need investigate.
