All Rise...Judge David Johnson's house is an animal house! Keggers nightly! The ChargeHome is where the guano is. The CaseNow here's a specialized science program. What is The Animal House? It's not a loving retrospective to John Belushi, that's for sure. It's an hour-long NOVA Nature program about the houses animals live in. Quite literally. As the program rolls, we animal-lovers are taken on a comprehensive tour through all manner of creature domicile, from owl hovels and beaver dams to towering ant-hills and the labyrinthine prairie dog tunnels. Okay, so what else can I tell you? I covered the owl hovels and the beaver dams, and I noted the ant hills and the prairie dog tunnels… The Animal House is another solid documentary of the natural world, shedding light on the wonderful little habitats these critters carve out. In fact, we get a peek at some of the engineering designs that have been built into their construction and learn, as the synopsis says, "how insects handle heating and cooling." Not a bad way to spend an hour, huh? The DVD: 1.78:1 anamorphic widescreen, Dolby 5.1 surround, no extras. The VerdictNot Guilty. Get your learn on!
