All Rise...Judge Dawn Hunt still thinks "Hey Dude" is an awesome way to greet people. Editor's NoteOur reviews of Hey Dude: Season 1 (published July 10th, 2011) and Hey Dude: Season 3 (published July 1st, 2012) are also available. The Charge"Watch out for those man-eating jack rabbits." Opening StatementThe second season of staffer misadventures at a touristy dude ranch in Arizona. Facts of the CaseAll thirteen episodes of the Season Two are presented on two discs. • "Loose Lips" The EvidenceReturn with me to the Bar None Ranch in Arizona, where we meet up with Ted (David Lascher, Sabrina, the Teenage Witch), Danny (Joe Torres), Melody (Christine Taylor, Tropic Thunder), Brad (Kelly Brown), Mr. Ernst (David Brisbin, E.R.), Lucy (Debrah Kalman) and Mr. Ernst's son Buddy (Josh Tygiel). There are definite moments of slapstick, but this time a lot of the plots revolve around interpersonal relationships among the staff, as opposed to specific ranch problems. One of the most prevalent themes is getting one up on someone, be it through pranks or scaring someone silly. Hey Dude is very much a product of the late '80s/early '90s. The standard definition 1.33:1 full frame transfer is a bit cleaner than a VHS tape, so don't hope for HD quality. The Dolby 2.0 stereo is clean and clear, actually a step above what you might expect from something this old. No special features, which is not cool even if a timesaver for yours truly. Closing StatementYou're going to plunk down the money for Hey Dude: Season Two, if you're already a fan of the series. The VerdictNot guilty.
